The story
Irina lives in an isolated village in Romania, where her family imposes an oppressive atmosphere and those close to her exercise brutal authority. Hoping to build a life of her own, she plans to leave the countryside and pursue her studies in the city. As she tries to assert her independence, an unexpected encounter makes her newly aware of the violence and control shaping her daily life. Irina is left torn between the possibility of emancipation and the fear of breaking away from the people around her, beginning an inner struggle to take charge of her future.
