Full plot (contains spoilers)
Pierre Loiseau, a livestock farmer and major landowner in Saint-Affrique, has been murdered. The police have plenty of suspects to investigate: his girlfriend, his ex-wife, a local small-scale farmer who has fallen into ruin, and a group of animal-rights activists. Lieutenant Caroline Martinez, Captain Charles Jouanic, and Deputy Prosecutor Élisabeth Richard will have to go undercover in the Aveyron community to try to uncover the truth.
