The story
Sue Charlton, a feature writer for her father's newspaper, travels to Walkabout Creek in the Northern Territory of Australia to interview Michael J. "Mick" or "Crocodile" Dundee. Mick is a bushman rumored to have survived a crocodile attack. While Sue is initially unimpressed by Mick's unconventional behavior and rustic lifestyle, she becomes increasingly intrigued by his survival skills and local knowledge. After a series of adventures in the Outback, the two decide to travel together to New York City, where Mick must navigate the complexities of urban life while Sue finds herself torn between her current relationship and her growing affection for the Australian bushman.

Sue Charlton, a feature writer, travels to the Australian Outback to interview Mick 'Crocodile' Dundee, a bushman known for his survival skills. Despite her initial skepticism of his uncouth manners, Sue becomes impressed by his prowess in the wild. The two travel to New York City, where Mick's survival instincts are put to the test in an urban environment. While Sue's boyfriend, Richard, mocks Mick's lifestyle, she finds herself increasingly drawn to the bushman. At a dinner hosted by Sue's father, Richard proposes to her, and her confused silence is taken as acceptance. Heartbroken, Mick decides to leave for the United States. Sue chases him through a crowded subway station, and amidst the crowd, she declares her love for him, leading to a triumphant reunion.
