Full plot (contains spoilers)
Dora, a 32-year-old dramaturge at a theater, is attractive and popular with men, but she keeps being disappointed. Her latest affair is married and is expecting a child with his wife. Dora is hurt and can feel her biological clock ticking. For this reason, she does not want to waste any time and sets out to find a sperm donor so she can finally become a mother. A visit to a sperm bank proves fruitless, however, and the men she considers are disappointing. Only the leading actor at Dora’s theater catches her interest. She begins a sexual relationship with Tamás without revealing her true intentions. She insists that it is only about sex. But Tamás hopes for more and wants a committed relationship. When he happens to learn the truth about Dora’s motives, however, he is furious. He confronts Dora and ends their relationship. The situation weighs so heavily on them both that they neglect their work. Dora almost misses the dress rehearsal, while Tamás acts without passion and continually forgets his lines. He starts consoling himself with another woman, but, unlike before, he no longer really enjoys it. After a theater colleague attempts suicide out of lovesickness and is saved only by good fortune and Dora’s swift intervention, they both reflect on the value of their love.
