In 2013, Laura Barns commits suicide after a video of her at a party goes viral. A year later, Blaire Lily, Mitch Roussel, Jess Felton, Ken Smith, and Adam Sewell are on a Skype call when 'billie227' joins. They discover the account belongs to Laura. After a classmate, Val Rommel, is tricked into a chat and subsequently dies by suicide, the intruder begins sending the friends' secrets. Ken tries to remove the user, but the 911 operator is revealed to be the intruder, who then kills himself. The intruder forces the remaining friends to play 'Never have I ever,' revealing dark secrets including cheating, theft, and sexual assault. During the game, Adam shoots himself. The intruder then kills Jess by forcing her to use a curling iron. Finally, it is revealed that 'billie227' is Laura's spirit.
