Full plot (contains spoilers)
The stone statue of the war god Dai-Majin stands on an island in a lake. Near the lake are the two peaceful kingdoms of Chigusa and Maroshi. They provide a refuge for the oppressed inhabitants of the kingdom ruled by the tyrant Danjō Mikoshiba. One day, he uses the annual festival held in Chigusa and Maroshi to occupy both kingdoms. Their rightful heirs, Jūrō and Sayuri, who are in love, flee to Dai-Majin’s island. The tyrannical lord has Dai-Majin’s statue blown up, scattering its remains across the sea. But in a supernatural act, the war god comes back to life; the prince and princess, who were killed by the statue’s fragments, also return to life. As Dai-Majin strikes back against Danjō and his followers, the tyrannical lord burns to death aboard his boat at the war god’s hands.
