Rose and her mother Alma set off on a sailing trip to Bermuda with Alma's new boyfriend, Derek. During the voyage, armed men board the boat, killing Alma and shooting Derek. Rose tends to Derek's wounds and sails the ship to a small island. On the island, Derek reveals he was a cop who ripped off 'dirty cops,' and the attackers were the men he robbed. He admits he lied to Rose to gain her trust so he could kill her to prevent her from asking questions. He attempts to kill her, but she escapes to a lifeboat. Rose is eventually rescued by a vessel belonging to The Captain (Ray Liotta). She discovers the ship is being used for trafficking young women. Rose pretends to flirt with the captain before killing him and his crew to free the hostages.
