The story
During the holidays, 12-year-old Karli is supposed to help paint the old hotel his parents have bought in the Alps. When he impatiently presses the elevator buttons, the doors open onto a secret floor in 1938, where he meets Hannah, a Jewish girl, and Georg, a shoeshiner. Georg is accused of a theft he did not commit. The sons of a high-ranking Nazi staying at the hotel, or Bruno, the bar pianist, may have something to do with it.
