Das Kabinett des Dr. Larifari (1930)

The three friends Paul, Max, and Carl are broke. To get back on their feet, they decide to take a big risk: enter the up-and-coming sound-film business and set up a production company together. And since there are three of them, they call it Trio Film. But at first, the trio still lacks a usable screenplay. They try out a few initial ideas, but quickly reject them. Once they have finally settled on a family film, shooting begins in the studio. However, the newly minted producers soon cause complete chaos with their carefree attitude, until the staff goes on strike and everything falls apart. In the end, the three have gained some experience, but are once again as broke as before.
