Full plot (contains spoilers)

Fred, a kiss researcher, celebrates his 39th birthday with a prostitute. He is still married, but his wife, whom he still loves, lives apart from him and wants a divorce. Luzie and Sibil live in a blue house in the country. The two women are in a lesbian relationship, but Sibil also has an affair with Peter, a young man from the neighborhood. Luzie is writing a novel about the inner lives of men, while Sibil simply lives day to day. Fred invites young couples to his lab, where they have to kiss for fifteen minutes. He analyzes the subjects’ blood and saliva data. His professor is pressuring him: the results have to be ready sooner. On the day of his divorce, he meets Luzie in a bookstore. The two women approach men in libraries and bookstores. That is where they find lonely men who serve as research subjects for Luzie’s book. When Fred visits the women at their house, the first thing he has to do is swim naked with them in the lake, although the women are wearing bikinis. Afterwards, he and Alexander, whom Sibil picked up in a library, are put through a test about men’s feelings toward women. Alexander is sent home, and Fred spends the night with the women after a dinner with plenty of alcohol. But they do not have sex. Back in the city, Fred gets himself a new wardrobe and buys a fishing rod. He has discovered that the two women like fishing, so he rents a room at a guesthouse near their country house. He visits the women, who invite him that evening into their mysterious “red room.” But there they merely watch the evening news together. Both women fall in love with Fred, who in turn falls in love with them. Jealous scenes ensue, and Luzie sends Fred away. As he sits alone by a campfire beside the lake, “Venus” rises from the water and seduces him. Afterwards, Sibil is waiting for him at his guesthouse. They spend the night together. The next day, the women make a “love contract” with Fred. He transfers 3,000 euros each month and gets the two women as his “completely legal” harem.
