The story
Graphic artist Peter Heg is raising his ten-year-old son, Tommie, alone after his wife leaves. School drop-offs bring him into contact with a crowd of mothers attracted to him, and he has several mistresses. Then he crashes his bicycle into a car driven by Mascha, a woman suffering from unresolved heartbreak. Feeling sorry for her, Peter takes over the drive, and the two quickly fall for each other. Mascha soon moves in with him. Though she hosts a cooking show, she knows little about cooking, while Peter takes pleasure in his culinary skills. Their new relationship faces complications from Peter’s former mistresses, who are angry at being rejected.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Graphic artist Peter Heg has been abandoned by his wife. He now has to raise their ten-year-old son, Tommie, on his own. One of Peter’s responsibilities is taking Tommie to school, where every morning he runs into a crowd of lustful mothers. They would all like to sleep with Peter, and he has a string of mistresses. Then Peter crashes his bicycle into a car. As he walks over to the small car, he sees a woman behind the wheel. She is clearly having a hard time, and looks more like crying than laughing. Her name turns out to be Mascha, and she is suffering badly from unresolved heartbreak. Peter feels sorry for her, shoves his bicycle into Mascha’s car, and gets behind the wheel. On the drive home, the two fall for each other completely. Before long, Mascha moves in with Peter. Although Mascha hosts a cooking show, she knows nothing about cooking, unlike Peter, who takes great pleasure in his culinary skills. Love blossoms between the presenter and the artist, but there are rivals waiting in the wings. Peter’s former mistresses are furious that he has cast them aside and are plotting revenge. One of them, Hedda, sets a trap with her ex-husband, a photographer for a tabloid. When two other of Peter’s former girlfriends put him in an embarrassing situation, the photographer takes a full set of pictures. The tabloid splashes the whole story across its pages, even though it is a complete lie from beginning to end. Mascha reads the magazine and is beside herself. She leaves Peter and throws herself into the arms of a businessman who wants to make an erotic film with her. As if that were not enough, Mascha has to compete against a cooking expert at the Grand Gala Culinair. But Peter has not forgotten her, and he rescues his girlfriend from one awkward situation after another.
