De piraten van hiernaast (2020)

Bony Krelis has been the archenemy of Hector and Betsie Donderbus for years; they are all pirates. After the birth of their son Billy, Hector and Betsie decide to take things easier and go on the run. More than twelve years later, Michiel Brugman is walking on the beach at Zandwijk when he suddenly spots a pirate ship through his binoculars. A little later, it has disappeared again, and Michiel decides to forget about it. Nothing else is likely to happen anyway, because nothing ever happens in Zandwijk. The next morning, Michiel hears a commotion outside in otherwise quiet Zandwijk. When he looks outside, he sees a pirate ship. He walks outside as if in a trance and sees that a pirate ship has run aground in the street. As Michiel stands staring, Billy comes outside and startles him. Michiel goes back home and tries to convince his parents that there are pirates in the street. His parents do not believe him, but his father comes along anyway to prove Michiel wrong. It turns out Michiel was right. Hector and Betsie introduce themselves and their family. Michiel and Billy soon become friends. Not everyone in the neighborhood is happy about the Donderbus family’s arrival, and neighbor Daandels tries to persuade the other residents to drive the pirates away. Unexpectedly, Bony Krelis offers to help him. During a party organized by the Donderbus family, their treasure is stolen. Billy meets Krelis, who persuades him to come with him. Michiel follows Billy to convince him not to do it. It seems he is out of luck, but then Krelis tells Billy that he does not want to make him a pirate; he only wants to use him as bait to lure his parents out. At that, Billy decides not to join forces with Krelis after all.
