A naïve young Dane mistakenly admitted to film school must navigate its fierce competition and the professional, sexual, and political setbacks that follow.
The story
Erik Nietzsche is a young Dane with dreams of making films. He is admitted to the Danish film school by mistake and finds himself amid fierce competition among the students. The classes strike him as abstract, with no technical skills taught in the first year, while the teachers are portrayed as inept, frustrated, and pedantic. As Erik confronts professional, sexual, and political setbacks, he must learn how to find his way through a world that offers little protection to the naïve.
