The story
The Russian mafia is trying to obtain a painting called “The Black Madonna,” which resembles the real Black Madonna of Częstochowa. The painting is also wanted by police. To hide it, a Russian henchman named Kurt sends it to his daughter, Maria. When the mafia discovers she has the artwork, it tries to take it from her. Danish police seek the painting so it can be returned to its rightful owners, and officer Gustav sets out alone to recover it, pursuing Maria all the way to Poland. Their paths become part of a dangerous chase, with the mafia in pursuit.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
The Russian mafia wants to get hold of a painting called “The Black Madonna” (which looks almost exactly like the real Black Madonna of Częstochowa). The painting is, of course, wanted by the police. In an attempt to hide it, one of the Russians’ henchmen, Kurt, sends the painting to his daughter, Maria. The mafia finds out that she has it and tries to get hold of it. The Danish police also want the painting so they can return it to its rightful owners. The police officer Gustav goes it alone to save the painting and pursues Maria all the way to Poland. The main characters find themselves caught up in a chase, pursued by the Russian mafia, who will stop at nothing to get the painting.
