Full plot (contains spoilers)
At a salsa night that 35-year-old Judith Hoffmann attends without her partner Georg, she is flirted with by the charming-seeming doctor Ralph Nester. On the way home afterward, Ralph rapes Judith. She files a complaint against Nester, a family man, but there is no trial because of a lack of evidence. Nester testifies that he had consensual sex with her. In an effort to process what happened, Judith then forces meetings with her attacker and his family. She tries to pressure Ralph Nester into retracting his false testimony and threatens to expose him to his family. In her desperation, she goes once more to a salsa night at the same venue, where she runs into Nester. Afterward, she provokes Nester so much that he knocks her down. While lying in the hospital, she learns from her lawyer, Valentin Stein, that the public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into Ralph Nester and that there will be a trial. The effects of the rape cause Judith’s relationship with her longtime partner Georg to fall apart. Another significant aspect of the film is the relationship between Judith and her lawyer, who is helpless much of the time.
