Full plot (contains spoilers)
Nena Raiwata has made a name for himself in India as a famous fakir. The adventurer Baron Ford arranges for him to come to Europe. Here, dressed in a tuxedo, the fakir shows off his many talents at evening events, appearing as a hunger artist, fire-eater, and torch dancer, among other things. A little later, the Indian goddess of the Ganges, Sybilla, follows him. Baron Ford has no good intentions toward his Indian guest; he plans to exploit the fakir’s supernatural abilities to steal a huge diamond belonging to Senator Harpen. But Sybilla, who, as a goddess, always knows how to transform herself at just the right moment—sometimes into a dancer, sometimes into a statue—foils the villainous scheme and ensures that Baron Ford and his men are arrested. In the end, it all turns out to have been nothing but a nightmare of the diamond’s owner, Senator Harpen.
