Little Raven Socke damages the dam in the forest while playing pirates with his friends. To prevent the lake from flooding the forest, Socke wants to ask the beavers who live outside the forest for help. He also hopes this will let him escape punishment from Mrs. Badger, the guardian of the forest animals. Together with his two friends, the timid sheep Wolle and the strong Eddie Bear, Socke sets off on an adventurous journey, during which he ultimately has to learn to own up to his mistakes. Meanwhile, the animals who stayed behind in the forest try to keep the mishap at the dam a secret from Mrs. Badger with some funny tricks. When they reach the beavers, it turns out that at first only Fritzi, the young female beaver, is willing to help the animals.
