When Jonas Waldeck suddenly steps into a snare while walking through the forest, Christoph is able to rescue him. Shortly afterward, they find more traps set by poachers. A little later, Jonas spots 17-year-old Julian, who lives in a log cabin belonging to his aunt. Jonas suspects that Julian is the poacher, especially since he also sees old traps by the house. But Julian is hiding there with his pregnant girlfriend Lena, away from her parents. Lena’s mother wants to pressure her daughter, who is only 16, into giving the baby up for adoption. Julian’s father worked for Lena’s mother until recently, but lost his job because of a workplace accident and unsuccessfully sued for damages after becoming disabled. Emilia is on vacation and returns to the park for two weeks. Jonas shows her two young lynxes that she will soon be able to release into the wild. His mother helps at a blood drive and happens to discover that her son and Karl Nollau have the same rare blood type, O negative. She then secretly has a DNA test done. Rike goes on a date with Jan, the new service technician, and it lasts until the next morning. Emilia confesses to Jonas that she had a one-night stand with her ex-boyfriend Moritz, which she already regrets. Jonas is hurt and walks away. That night, he and Christoph see the poacher. Since Julian is also sneaking around in the forest after hearing the sound of a car, they do nothing. Julian tries to confront the poacher, but the man knocks him down. Monika receives the DNA test results, which confirm that Karl Nollau is Jonas’s father. Now she does not know how to tell the two of them. Moritz also turns up and tries to pressure Emilia into getting back together with him. Jonas sees them and makes a scene with Emilia. She then packs her things and moves into a hotel. Kai tries to explain to her how difficult the situation is for Jonas and advises her to talk to him. Lena’s mother has filed a missing-person report, which also reaches the ranger station. Jonas goes to Julian and Lena and asks them to tell their parents where they are. Otherwise, he will have to tell them himself. During a visit to Julian’s father, Lena’s mother learns that Julian is serving a suspended sentence because he failed to complete his community service. She confronts her daughter with this, but Lena does not believe her. Karl Nollau, who by now knows that he is Jonas’s father, unexpectedly turns up and offers Jonas a job. He also behaves strangely in other ways, which makes Jonas suspicious. Emilia has packed her things and is about to leave; she is also ignoring Jonas’s calls. Lena’s mother continues to pressure her daughter and threatens to call the police if she does not come home voluntarily. The two of them then decide to flee to the Czech Republic. Karl Nollau wants to show Monika something at the future site of his project, but he stumbles and injures his leg. Monika calls Jonas for help. On the way to the hospital, Karl thanks Jonas, calling him “my son.” Later, at the hospital, Monika finally tells Jonas the truth, too. Emilia has changed her mind and returned to help at the park. She happens to spot the poacher and calls Jonas for help. Together, they overpower the man and hand him over to the police. Jonas apologizes to his mother, having realized that she did not know Karl Nollau was his father. Lena goes into labor on the way to the border. Just as Emilia is about to explain to Jonas everything she did wrong, Julian calls him. Since it would take the emergency services too long to arrive, Jonas and Emilia set off to help them. Lena is so far along that they cannot make it to the hospital. The baby is born in a shelter. Lena’s mother and Julian’s father promise to help the two of them, especially while Julian has to be in prison. Emilia confesses to Jonas that she loves only him, gives up her job in Greifswald, and wants to stay with him.
