A German skier's training is complicated by a meeting with a French holidaymaker and her jealous suitor in the Alps.
The story
While training for the European Ski Championships in Zermatt on the Matterhorn, German skiers Turri, Koste, and Morel encounter French skier Mary Dulac lying in the snow. Mary is vacationing in the mountains with her wealthy father and invites the newcomers to dance at her elegant hotel, irritating her suitor, Gregor Milacz. The next day, Mary books Turri for a mountain hike with Gregor, but Turri would rather train, with the competitions only five days away. Milacz then books Turri for another hike the following day, this time in uncertain weather and without Mary, up the Breithorn.

While training for the European Ski Championships in Zermatt, on the Matterhorn, the three German skiers Turri, Koste, and Morel come upon the French skier Mary Dulac lying in the snow at their feet. Mary is spending the winter holiday in the mountains with her wealthy father and invites her new acquaintances to dance at her elegant hotel that evening—much to the displeasure of her suitor, Gregor Milacz. Mary books Turri for a mountain hike the next day, together with Gregor. Turri would rather train, however, since the competitions are only five days away. But Milac books him for another hike the following day as well—this time, in uncertain weather, up the Breithorn and without Mary.
