When Camille disappears, her best friend joins a personal investigation alongside an official police inquiry.
The story
Camille has disappeared, and it is unclear whether she was murdered, died by suicide, or ran away. Two investigations begin: an official inquiry led by a police captain and a personal one undertaken by Marion, Camille’s best friend and the sister of Camille’s husband, Raphaël. Marion comes to help her bewildered brother, while accounts from people around Camille contradict one another. They sketch a complex portrait of Camille as a married woman and mother of two young daughters, but offer no single clear account of her.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Camille has disappeared. Murder, suicide, or running away? Two investigations are launched: one official, led by a police captain; the other personal, undertaken by her best friend, Marion. The accounts of those around Camille contradict one another, painting a complex portrait of a married woman and mother of two young daughters. Marion is also the sister of Raphaël, Camille’s husband. When she comes to help her bewildered brother, she gradually begins to understand just how blind she has been. What has she been unable to see all these years? What truth will she have to face now? As the investigation progresses, Camille’s story reveals an insidious pattern of psychological manipulation within her marriage—a violence that is invisible yet so destructive that it sometimes leads to the worst.
