Die Ausbildung (2011)

Twenty-year-old Jan is in his final year of training at the call center of a large company. His department manager, Susanne, is becoming increasingly distracted and exhausted by the day because of her workload and difficult personal life (she has a son with an intellectual disability). Their supervisor is Tobias. Although all the employees are on first-name terms, their interactions seem cold and impersonal. Jan escapes the dreary routine of work in his free time by distracting himself with consumption, destructive impulses, and speeding in his car. One day, Jenny, a temporary worker, joins Jan’s department. After spending some time together, they fall in love and become a couple. However, after a few months Jenny is transferred to another town, and their relationship begins to falter. Susanne can no longer withstand the pressure, so senior management pressures her to resign. When his training ends, Tobias offers Jan a one-year contract in faraway Munich.
