Full plot (contains spoilers)
Alexandra Fuchs actually wants nothing more to do with men, but at her new job at a dry cleaner’s, she meets the likable, shy businessman Gregor Sand, who immediately catches her attention. Alexandra wants to impress him by showing him her invention, a food freshness meter. To help her, she enlists patent attorney Fiona-Salm Friedrich, whom she knows from school. But her acquaintance coldly takes advantage of Alexandra’s trust. She tells Gregor Sand that the freshness meter is her invention. Deeply disappointed, Alexandra completely withdraws from Gregor, with whom she had begun to become friends. Alexandra’s children, Julie and Moritz, can no longer stand by and watch their mother give up so easily without a fight. So they take the initiative and visit Gregor Sand at his company. The receptionist refuses to let them see her boss, but the children find a way into Sand’s office. They simply bring him all the things their mother has invented, to prove that the latest major invention is hers too, not the patent attorney’s. Sand is impressed by the many small, practical gadgets and is inclined to believe the children. He looks into the matter and changes the patent application to Alexandra’s name. He then brings her the document and an advance payment. Alexandra is still unwilling to get involved with Gregor, even though he is clearly making an effort with her. Alexandra tells her daughter that men are never interested in the prey, only in the hunt. Only when Gregor speaks to her live on the radio in their secret language is she convinced that he really loves her. Now nothing stands in the way of a happy ending.
