A fashion editor in Frankfurt discovers she has two young half-siblings and must decide whether to take them in.
The story
Isabelle, a fashion designer who has become editor-in-chief at a fashion company, has lived with her grandparents for many years. She learns that her father died in an accident alongside his second wife, contradicting the story she had believed—that he died of a heart attack 23 years earlier. Isabelle travels to her father’s farm and meets Daniel, who cares for her half-siblings, Paul and Melissa. A social worker explains that Isabelle can take the children into foster care; otherwise, they will be sent to an orphanage. Faced with a choice between her established life in Frankfurt and staying at the farm with the children, Isabelle must reconsider her priorities.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Isabelle is a fashion designer at a fashion company, where she has become editor-in-chief. She has lived with her grandparents for many years. One day, she discovers that her father died in an accident along with his second wife, even though she had always believed he died of a heart attack 23 years earlier, as her grandparents had led her to believe. Isabelle then goes to her father’s farm, where she meets Daniel, a man who looks after Paul and Melissa, Isabelle’s half-siblings. The social worker tells them that their half-sister can take the children into foster care; otherwise, they will be sent to an orphanage. Isabelle therefore has to choose between her life in Frankfurt and staying at the farm with the children. After a while, she takes them to the city house where she lives with her partner, Robert, but he does not accept them. During an argument, Paul and Melissa run away and go to the station to return to the farm, but Isabelle finds them, and Daniel later catches up with them and takes them away. Isabelle gives up her position as editor-in-chief and leaves Robert to live at the farm for good, thereby managing to balance her life with her half-siblings and her work.
