Students race to save their school by winning a competition and recruiting enough new pupils.
The story
Winterstein School faces closure: unless it receives at least 100 new registrations within four days, the school will shut and its castle will be sold. Ida and her friends set out to prevent this. Their plan is to win the “School Challenge,” a contest between several schools whose final takes place on the last day of the deadline. The students hope to attract new pupils by handing out flyers and registration forms, but they must both succeed in the competition and persuade enough children to enroll before time runs out.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Winterstein School is in danger: If it does not receive at least 100 new registrations within four days, the school will be closed and the castle sold. Ida and her friends try to prevent the closure. Their plan is to win the “School Challenge.” This is a competition in which several schools compete against one another, with the final taking place on the very last day of the deadline. In the competition, the students want to hand out flyers and registration forms and thereby reach the required number of pupils. The Winterstein School team wins the School Challenge and, at the same time, manages to convince 105 children to enroll at Winterstein School. The school is saved. This makes the plot a substantial departure from the subject matter of the fourth volume of the book series on which it is based.
