The story
Thirty-year-old Max is an emergency physician at a Berlin hospital and lives with Coco, his longtime partner, in a comfortable apartment. While Coco jealously protects their relationship, Max feels confined by her closeness. One day he misdials a number and becomes captivated by the voice of a woman who briefly answers before ending the call. Unable to reach her again, Max searches for her during nighttime walks around the city. He eventually encounters Marie at a billiards hall, where she is with her partner, Kurt. The meeting begins a romantic complication for both couples.

Thirty-year-old Max works as an emergency physician at a Berlin hospital. He has been in a relationship for a long time with the attractive Coco, with whom he shares a well-kept apartment. Coco jealously defends their relationship, while Max feels his freedom is restricted. One day, Max dials the wrong number and falls in love with a voice on the other end of the phone that says only, “Hello,” and then, “You’ve got the wrong number!” The phone is hung up, and shortly afterward the line is even disconnected. On nighttime walks around the city, Max searches for the woman whose voice he heard, hoping to escape Coco’s suffocating closeness. He finally runs into Marie by chance at a billiards hall—the woman behind the voice—who is accompanied by her partner, Kurt. Soon afterward, Marie and Max are involved in a car accident, which leads to them falling into each other’s arms and making love in the rain in the street. Later, when Max and Coco host a party, Marie and Kurt arrive at the door as guests. After that, Max and Marie try to set their respective partners up with each other.
