Full plot (contains spoilers)
This film tells the story of Dr. Petiot, a French physician who was one of the worst serial killers during the Occupation. Between 1941 and 1944, he is said to have lured dozens of people to his mansion at 21 Rue Le Sueur in Paris, where he then murdered and burned them. At his trial, he claimed responsibility for 63 murders, which he said he had committed against Germans and collaborators. In reality, his victims were mostly Jews trying to flee Nazi persecution, whom he promised to help leave France. He was sentenced to death for the murder of 27 people and executed in 1946.
