Full plot (contains spoilers)

In 2026, the Ark, a wormhole portal to an ancient city on Mars, is discovered in the Nevada desert. Twenty years later, the Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC) facility on Mars is attacked. A squad of eight marines, including Sarge, is sent to the facility to retrieve data. They find the site contains evidence of a humanoid race with a mutated 24th chromosome. During their mission, they encounter mutated humans, including a transformed Dr. Carmack. The marines learn that UAC's experiments with the Martian Chromosome (C24) caused a massive outbreak. Some humans became mindless monsters, while others gained superhuman abilities. As the situation escalates, some creatures use the Ark to reach Earth. The marines, along with survivors like Pinky, eventually reach Earth. After a series of casualties, Sarge executes a survivor for insubordination, leading to a confrontation. During a massive attack, Sarge and Pinky are separated from the group. Sarge becomes infected and mutated. The protagonist, Reaper, is injected with the C24 serum by his sister, Sam, granting him superhuman abilities. He eventually faces a mutated Sarge in a final battle. Reaper wins, sending Sarge back through the Ark to Mars, destroying the facility, and then escapes to the surface with his sister.
