The story

In the 15th century, Vlad Dracula, the Prince of Wallachia and Transylvania, rules his lands in peace after years of war. However, the discovery of a mysterious artifact and a subsequent attack by a humanoid creature reveal the presence of a vampire. When an Ottoman army arrives at his castle demanding a tribute of boys, including his own son, Vlad is forced to make a desperate choice. To save his family from Sultan Mehmed II, he seeks out the Master Vampire, seeking a source of power that could grant him the strength to defend his kingdom, even if it means sacrificing his humanity.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In the 15th century, Vlad Dracula, the Prince of Wallachia and Transylvania, is a war hero known as 'Vlad the Impaler'. After retiring from the Ottoman Empire's service, he lives in peace until a humanoid creature attacks his men. He learns from a monk that the creature is a vampire. When the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II demands his son as tribute, Vlad seeks out the Master Vampire. He accepts a gift of blood that grants him supernatural abilities, including the ability to transform into a cloud of bats. During a siege at a monastery, Vlad's wife Mirena is separated from him and eventually pleads with him to stay a vampire to save their son. Vlad accepts, fully transforming and breaking the seal on the Master Vampire. He defeats the Sultan but finds his subjects have lost their humanity. He eventually allows himself to be exposed to the sun to die with his subjects, but a mysterious man saves him, leaving him as a permanent vampire. In the present day, Vlad meets a woman named Mina who appears to be a reincarnation of his wife.
