Two desperate police detectives and two childhood friends become entangled in a violent robbery orchestrated by a professional thief.

The story

In the fictional city of Bulwark, two police detectives, Brett Ridgeman and Anthony Lurasetti, are suspended without pay following a video of them committing police brutality. Desperate for money—Ridgeman to move his family and Lurasetti to secure his future—they are recruited by a businessman to surveil and rob a heroin distributor, Lorentz Vogelmann. Simultaneously, a local man named Henry Johns and his friend Biscuit are hired by Vogelmann as getaway drivers for a high-stakes bank robbery. The two pairs of men, driven by different motives but facing a common threat, find their paths colliding in a tense, high-stakes underworld of crime and desperation.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In the city of Bulwark, detectives Brett Ridgeman and Anthony Lurasetti are suspended for police brutality. They agree to rob a heroin distributor, Lorentz Vogelmann, to solve their financial problems. Meanwhile, Henry Johns and his friend Biscuit are hired by Vogelmann as getaway drivers for a bank heist. During the heist, the thieves execute a bank employee and take hostages. Ridgeman and Lurasetti, who are tracking the thieves, eventually confront them. After a violent confrontation at a remote garage, several characters are killed, including Biscuit and Lurasetti. Ridgeman and Henry eventually face off; after a tense standoff, they agree to split the loot. However, Ridgeman later threatens Henry to delete a recording of the crime. Following a final confrontation where they shoot at each other, Henry mortally wounds Ridgeman. Eleven months later, Henry lives in luxury, having kept a portion of the gold for Ridgeman's family.
