Ecco noi per esempio... (1977)

Palmambrogio Guanziroli is an aspiring poet from Cremenago who arrives in Milan to find a publisher for his collection of bucolic poems, entitled The Cultivation of Rice. At Porta Garibaldi station, amid a violent student protest, the poet loses his wallet, which is found by Clic, a paparazzo and former photojournalist in the Vietnam War. Clic promises to return it to him at the Violetta boarding house, where the penniless photographer has been living for some time without paying rent; the two immediately become friends. Clic is constantly getting into trouble because of his sensational photographs, whose subjects include a gang of horse thieves and a group of radical feminists intent on learning how to use a vaginal speculum. Through Clic, Palmambrogio tries to get in touch with the established poet Melano Melani, his literary idol, who frequents one of the city’s most prominent intellectual circles. But once he succeeds, he abandons his plans when he discovers that Melani is willing to write the foreword to his book only in exchange for a homosexual encounter, which Palmambrogio indignantly refuses before walking away. During a kidnapping at an amusement park, Clic is caught by the criminals taking photographs, and a shootout ensues in which he is wounded in one eye. Having gone blind, he sets off for Sweden on a journey of hope, under the sad, melancholy gaze of Palmambrogio, who in the meantime has finally married his longtime girlfriend from Cremenago.
