The story
Jenny Greengrass and her boyfriend, Steve Taylor, travel to a remote spot in the English countryside called Eden Lake for a weekend away. During their journey, Steve expresses his disdain for the antisocial behavior of local youths. Upon arriving at the lake, the couple's idyllic getaway is suddenly disrupted by a gang of rowdy teenagers led by a psychopathic leader named Brett. The couple soon finds themselves in a tense confrontation with the group, whose presence turns their peaceful retreat into a dangerous struggle for survival as they realize they are being targeted by the hostile teenagers.

Jenny Greengrass and her boyfriend, Steve Taylor, travel to a remote lake in the English countryside. After encountering a boy named Adam and experiencing escalating tensions with a gang of teenagers led by the psychopathic Brett, the couple's safety is compromised. After their car is sabotaged and their supplies are ruined, they face the gang in the woods. A violent confrontation ensues, leading to the capture of Steve. At daybreak, Jenny witnesses Steve being tortured by the gang. She manages to free him but cannot treat his mortal wounds. During her escape, she encounters Adam again, who alerts the gang to her location. She is captured and nearly burned alive but manages to escape, eventually fleeing in a van and killing a gang member, Paige. She crashes into a house where she is taken in by a woman and a man named Jon. She eventually realizes she is in Brett's home. When Brett arrives, he lies to the other adults, claiming Jenny and Steve were the attackers. This leads to a violent confrontation where Jenny is attacked by the men while Brett watches from his room, deleting evidence of his crimes.
