Full plot (contains spoilers)

A man whose name is not given and his equally nameless wife have been trapped in the routines of married life for years. Both are financially comfortable. Over time, however, trivialities gradually wear down their life together. One day, the still-young husband meets a very young girl whom he finds attractive. The two quickly become more than friends: the girl becomes his mistress. He furnishes an apartment for her, and she brings variety to his life. One day, his wife discovers his double life, and the man decides to take decisive action and files for divorce. His wife, however, is unwilling to separate, supposedly because of their child, while his mistress, who did not know he was already married, leaves him. In this way, husband and wife find their way back to each other and give their relationship another chance. But it will be no more than an arrangement based purely on reason. After their tenth wedding anniversary, the man meets his former mistress again. In the meantime, she has married for practical reasons and is also trapped in the routines of married life.
