The story
Two strangers arrive in the small town of Cripple, where two Quaker couples live in severe poverty, usually subsisting on watery soup and bread. The newcomers decide to wait there for other bandits. While they wait, they terrorize the families and sexually exploit the women.

Two strangers arrive in the small town of Cripple, where two Quaker couples live in the most meager conditions—watery soup and bread are usually their only food. They decide to wait here for other bandits. In the meantime, they terrorize the families and sexually exploit the women, who arouse their carnal desires, in part because the women are uninhibited about their bodies. Rachel is soon shot dead by them.
