Ein Regenbogen zu Weihnachten (2023)

Veterinarian Nicole and sales representative Martin have been in an open relationship for a year. When Nicole makes it clear to the widowed Martin that she wants a committed relationship and would like to meet his family, he decides to introduce her for the first time to his children, 13-year-old Juli and 17-year-old Kris. However, their first dinner together meets with little enthusiasm: the two teenagers are distant toward Nicole. Nicole then asks Martin for some space. Disappointed by her decision, Martin nevertheless invites her on a family ski vacation in the mountains. Although she initially considers spending the holidays in Leipzig with her free-spirited mother, Diana, Nicole decides to give Martin another chance after all and promptly follows the family there. When she arrives, Martin joyfully embraces Nicole and, encouraged by her gesture, admits to his children that they have been a couple for some time. The two are unimpressed by the confession, especially since Nicole can make Juli happy with her dog Noël and Kris happy with the snowboards she brought along. But when Kris breaks his foot while skiing in front of his crush, Tü, and Juli—whom Nicole had earlier encouraged to confess her feelings to their neighbor Yella—is rejected by Yella, the children suddenly give Nicole the cold shoulder. When Noël also runs off for a while, Nicole packs her bags and leaves. Juli then realizes that her behavior was wrong. She persuades Kris to go after Nicole, and together they manage to convince her to come back with them. The patchwork family celebrates the Christmas holidays together.
