Ein todsicherer Plan (2014)

Master carpenter Roth is an honest, quiet, and hard-working man. But when his bank calls in a loan he can no longer repay, he has to close his business and lay off all his employees. Desperate for money, he and his business partner, Achim Buchert, rob a cash-in-transit vehicle while it is stopped at his bank, justifying the crime by saying that the bank is to blame for his bankruptcy. The vehicle is empty, opening the test-money cassette takes longer than planned, and a security officer overpowers the getaway driver. When the police arrive, Roth and Buchert flee inside the bank—which they had not actually intended to enter—and take four bank employees and a second security officer hostage. Roth learns why his loan was called in: the bank had lost money on speculative transactions and was consequently forced to take a tougher line. Buchert, a former elite soldier, seems determined to see the robbery through at any cost, while Roth grows increasingly uncertain as events unfold. Under the moderating influence of local police officer Witt, who knows Roth personally, he is almost ready to give up. At that moment, state criminal police officer Alexandra Beck takes over command of the operation and brusquely rejects any interference from Witt. In the increasingly chaotic situation, shots are fired and the special task force intervenes. Roth and Buchert are killed by targeted shots. The film ends with the bank being cleared.
