Full plot (contains spoilers)
In Yaragüey, a small imaginary town in the interior of Cuba, members of the Castiñeiras family receive news that they may inherit a fortune. From that moment on, the lives of the Castiñeiras and everyone in town are thrown into turmoil, especially Bernardito’s and his wife Marthica’s. Everyone has to devote themselves to the claims process, while some of them run up debts recklessly. It is believed that the story is also based on real events, except that the real surname was Contreras, and the real ending is the same as the film’s.
