The story
After more than 40 years of marriage, retired Lotti has had enough of Heinz and wants to separate, prompting her to look for a place of her own. Her decision is also connected to Mr. Schmidt, her former boss, who has just died; Lotti insists their relationship was always platonic, though he had been her secret crush for years. Hoping to change her grandmother’s mind, Eva sets off on a trip with her. It might be enjoyable, but Eva is dealing with her own problems with men.

Eva can hardly believe her ears: Grandma Lotti wants to leave her Heinz?! After more than 40 years of marriage, Lotti has suddenly had enough of Heinz. The retiree wants to separate and is looking for a place of her own. Her decision also has something to do with Mr. Schmidt, who used to be Lotti’s boss. Mr. Schmidt has just died, and although Lotti swears that things between them were always purely platonic, he turns out to have been her secret crush for years. To bring her grandmother to her senses, Eva sets off on a trip with Lotti. It could be a lot of fun, if only Eva didn’t have her own problems with men. And so a planned short trip to the Baltic Sea suddenly turns into a road trip to Italy.
