Full plot (contains spoilers)
Enola and Tewkesbury are in Malta for their wedding, which Sherlock opposes as he believes Enola is sacrificing her independence. When Sherlock disappears while working on a secret case, Enola finds a clue leading her to a woman named 'Rathe', who is revealed to be the villainous Professor Moriarty in disguise. Moriarty has orchestrated the entire situation, including the wedding location and Sherlock's disappearance, to lure Enola into a trap involving a conspiracy of stolen Afghan gold from the Battle of Khost. Enola teams up with Dr. Watson and a local fighter, Mikiel, to uncover the truth. She discovers that high-ranking British officials, including the local governor, have been hiding the stolen treasure for decades. After a tense confrontation and a chase, Enola and Sherlock defeat Moriarty and expose the corruption. The stolen gold is returned to Afghanistan. In the aftermath, the siblings reconcile, and Tewkesbury renounces his title due to his family's involvement in imperial crimes, while Enola chooses to keep her identity as a detective.
