A young mother and traditional singer leaves her small town for Casablanca, hoping to make a life singing aita.
The story
In her small town, Toda, a young divorcee, raises her young son Yassine alone; he was born deaf and mute. She sings and dances at local parties and bars, but her real passion is aita, a traditional countryside singing style through which women have expressed their deepest feelings without censorship for generations. The music does not appeal to the patrons of the places where she performs, most of whom are looking for entertainment, and not always innocently. With ambitions beyond her current work, Toda decides to take a bus to Casablanca, determined to succeed there by singing aita.

She loves dancing and singing at parties and bars in her town, but her true passion is “aita,” a traditional style of singing from the countryside, in which women have expressed their deepest feelings without censorship for generations. This kind of singing does not appeal to the patrons of the places where she performs; most of them are looking for entertainment, and not always innocently. One day, Toda, who has other ambitions, decides to take the bus to Casablanca, determined to succeed there, especially by singing aita.
