The story
After a series of tragic events, a pregnant woman named Beth seeks help from her estranged sister, Ellie. They settle into an apartment in Los Angeles where Ellie cares for her three children. However, a massive earthquake reveals a hidden chamber containing ancient, cursed artifacts. When a demonic force known as Deadites is unleashed, the siblings must navigate a crumbling building and a growing supernatural threat to protect the children and survive the night.

The story begins with a tragic incident at a lakeside cabin involving cousins and a possessed woman. The main narrative follows Beth, a pregnant woman, and her sister Ellie, who is caring for three children in an L.A. apartment. An earthquake uncovers a hidden chamber containing the Naturom Demonto, a book of the dead. The ritualistic items and records lead to the summoning of Deadites. Ellie is possessed and becomes a threat to her children. As the building's infrastructure fails, the siblings are forced to fight off the possessed. The children, Danny, Bridget, and Kassie, are endangered as the demonic force spreads. Bridget becomes possessed and is eventually neutralized by a physical injury. Beth discovers the truth about the ritual from a record and realizes only the destruction of the host can stop the Deadites. The climax involves a multi-limbed creature called the Marauder, formed by the merged bodies of the possessed, attacking Beth and Kassie in a blood-filled elevator. They eventually defeat the creature using a wood chipper. The film ends with a final scene of a woman at a parking lot being attacked by an unseen force.
