Full plot (contains spoilers)

Clint Clips, a bounty hunter, and a gang of Mexican criminals are on the trail of John Coler, a fugitive accused of stealing a large shipment of gold guarded by the U.S. Army. Clint thinks he has spotted him among a troupe of circus performers led by Burt, and when he manages to arrest him with a warrant during a show, the bandits burst onto the scene, capture them both, and torture them. The stranger reveals that he is Bill Coler, John’s younger twin brother, and that he was responsible for the gold theft. He has hidden in a ghost town, setting off a kind of treasure hunt. After escaping and reaching the town before the Mexican bandits, Bill kills them all and saves his brother’s life, but insists that he return the stolen gold. John disagrees, knocks him unconscious, and is arrested by the Army while attempting to escape. The gold falls into Burt’s hands. Blinded by the enormous wealth, he tries to keep the loot for himself, but during a struggle with Bill, he dies after falling awkwardly from a moving wagon. The gold will be returned to its rightful owners, while Bill, grief-stricken by the many deaths he has caused, buries Burt—and with him, the pistol and ammunition.
