The story
At a hotel, startup founders Linus, Luca, Bahl, and Malik pitch their artificial intelligence, Infinitalk, to Japanese investor Li. When Luca refuses the sale on moral grounds and mysteriously disappears, Linus grows doubtful and hesitates to sign the contract. He suspects he may actually be lying in bed while a simulation is being shown to pressure him into signing.

The film begins with a sales pitch in a hotel, where the startup founders Linus, Luca, Bahl, and Malik are supposed to sell their artificial intelligence, Infinitalk, to the Japanese investor Li. When Luca rejects the sale for moral reasons, she mysteriously disappears. This also raises doubts in Linus, and he hesitates to sign the contract. He suspects that he is actually lying in bed and being shown a simulation to pressure him into signing. After seeing through the simulation, he jumps from the hotel roof, causing the simulation to crash. Linus now encounters the elderly Luca. She explains that he has been dead for decades and is himself only part of her personal simulation, while she is terminally ill in hospital. The simulation then begins again with the sales pitch, as it must have done countless times before. Events seem to repeat until Linus recognizes a clue and manages to escape the hotel simulation with the young Luca. Relieved by this transformation, the elderly Luca dies in her hospital bed. In the final scene, a nurse switches off the simulation.
