Dom and his team must stop his estranged brother and a high-tech weapon from causing global havoc.
The story
In the present day, Dom is retired and raising his son Brian with his wife Letty Ortiz. Roman Pearce, Tej Parker and Ramsey arrive with news that shortly after arresting Cipher, Mr. Nobody's plane was attacked by rogue agents, who abducted Cipher and crashed in Montequinto, a fictional Central American country. Dom agrees to help them after realizing Jakob is involved. Searching the plane, they find part of a device called Project Aries, which can hack into any computer weapons system. The team is ambushed by a private army led by Jakob, who steals the device. The team then learns that Han Lue is connected to Project Aries, prompting Letty and Mia to travel to Tokyo to investigate.

The story begins in 1989 with a tragic racing accident involving Jack Toretto, leading to a long-standing feud between his sons, Dom and Jakob. In the present, Dom is retired until his team learns that Jakob is involved in the theft of Project Aries, a device capable of hacking any computer weapons system. The team travels across various locations, including Tokyo, Germany, and Edinburgh, to track down the components of the device and find allies. They discover that Han Lue is connected to the project and that his 'death' was a ruse. The plot culminates in a high-stakes chase in Tbilisi, where the team attempts to stop the upload of Project Aries to a satellite. During the climax, the team faces off against Otto and Cipher. Ultimately, the team succeeds in stopping the upload, and Dom reconciles with his brother. The film ends with a celebration at Dom's house, where a surprise appearance by Brian O'Conner is hinted at in a mid-credits scene.
