Familie Bundschuh - Wir machen Camping (2025)

The Bundschuh family’s marriage is going through a rough patch. Gundula has already contacted a divorce lawyer after an online test gave her a dismal prognosis. In an effort to improve things, Gerald surprises Gundula with a short holiday in a rented camper van. But his gesture is not entirely selfless: at the campsite, Gerald wants to impress his boss, Manfred, and improve his chances of succeeding him—much to Gundula’s annoyance. To do that, camping-averse Gerald has to make a real effort when camping expert Manfred takes him fishing long before sunrise, does morning exercises with him, or invites him for a spot of nude swimming. Back home, Gundula’s brother Hadi has quite different worries when a literary agent calls to express strong interest in the complete version of his novel. Since he left some pages in Gerald’s camper and has no digital copy, he promptly loads the family and Gerald’s mother, Susanne, into the 2CV and drives to the campsite. Gerald and Gundula are anything but delighted. From then on, their relatives camp outside their camper, while Susanne moves into the most expensive luxury lodge and starts flirting with Manfred. In the midst of the chaos, Gerald even scores points with Manfred by seeming to be a caring family man. Later, when Manfred tells him he plans to offer his position to a young colleague, Gerald is more than offended. Gundula and Gerald talk in the woods. She can understand why he feels hurt, but not why he has been putting their marriage at risk with his act over the past few days. Gundula concludes that the only way things can change is if she changes. Still at the campsite, she gets into the 2CV and sets off for a break of her own.
