A group of friends must pull off a high-stakes heist in Rio de Janeiro while being hunted by a relentless government agent.

The story

After being released from prison, Dominic Toretto, his sister Mia, and friend Brian O'Conner flee to Rio de Janeiro. While there, they become entangled in a dangerous plot to steal $100 million from a corrupt businessman, Hernan Reyes. Their operation is complicated by the arrival of Luke Hobbs, a relentless U.S. Diplomatic Security Service agent tasked with capturing them. As the trio navigates the complexities of the heist and the escalating danger from both the criminal underworld and federal authorities, they must decide how far they are willing to go to protect their family and secure their future.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

After being freed from a transport bus, Dominic Toretto, Mia Toretto, and Brian O'Conner escape to Rio de Janeiro. They join forces with others to steal three cars from a train, eventually discovering a chip containing the financial details of drug lord Hernan Reyes's empire. They are subsequently hunted by DSS agent Luke Hobbs. After a series of narrow escapes through the favelas and a confrontation with Reyes's men, the group decides to steal Reyes's cash to start a new life. They recruit former allies and partners to assist in a massive heist at a police station. During a high-speed chase, they use a heavy vault to smash through obstacles. Ultimately, the team successfully secures the money, and the characters part ways to enjoy their new lives, while Hobbs is left to deal with the aftermath of the heist. The film ends with a final, no-stakes race between Dom and Brian.
