Full plot (contains spoilers)
At the “Bergkristall” holiday home, director Helmut Oberpichler plans to have a sauna inaugurated on New Year’s Eve. The highlight of the cultural programme is supposed to be a performance by Swedish singer Inka Smörrebröd. When she suddenly cancels, the holidaymakers decide to put together the New Year’s Eve programme themselves, together with the post office choir and Alois Wachtel. The latter is even persuaded to dress up as a woman and perform as singer Dagmar Frederic. When the singer herself then actually turns up at the holiday home, events spiral out of control. After various mix-ups, the holiday home hosts a proper New Year’s Eve celebration, which ends with a paean to Eberswalder sausages from Dagmar Frederic’s hometown.
