The story

While the fairies of the forest have lived in harmony with humans in the past, they were driven away by the spirit of destruction, Hexxus. Now, as the threat of industrial destruction looms, Crysta and the shrunken Zak must navigate the dangers of the forest and work together to protect their home from the encroaching loggers and the malevolent entity that feeds on pollution.

Crysta, a young fairy in the secluded FernGully, finds a young logger named Zak after she accidentally shrinks him. They bond while traveling to find a way to restore his size, unaware that Zak's presence has led to the release of Hexxus, a spirit of destruction, who is being unleashed by a nearby logging operation. When the truth of the impending destruction is revealed, the two must face the threat together. After a series of sacrifices and a final confrontation where Crysta uses a seed to trap Hexxus within a new tree, the forest is saved.
