The story
When Maryam realizes that her husband, Mahmoud, plans to leave her for a divorced woman, she is left alone and seeks comfort in the company of others. She invites Karamali, her neighbor’s gardener, and his ailing wife to stay in her luxurious home. At first, Banoo is pleased to have the guests with her, finding companionship amid her emotional pain. But the arrival of Ghorban Salar, a relative of Karamali who also becomes her guest, brings growing disorder and causes Banoo to question what is happening in her household.

Maryam realizes that her husband, Mahmoud, intends to leave her and separate from her in order to be with a divorced woman. After being left alone, Banoo invites Karamali, her neighbor’s gardener, and his ailing wife to her luxurious home, seeking companionship and comfort for her pain. The film recounts Banoo’s state of mind: at first, she is pleased to have the new guests in her home, but gradually she discovers the thefts committed by Ghorban Salar, a relative of Karamali’s who became Banoo’s guest through him. Banoo’s mental breakdown and the disorder that follows the guests’ arrival lead her toward a new decision that will bring change to her life. Having gone through new emotional experiences, Banoo ultimately leaves her husband, who has returned to her to make amends and apologize.
