Nanako (Naomi Nishida) returns to her grandparents’ home on Aguni Island in Okinawa Prefecture. On the ferry to the island, piloted by her childhood friend Kenji (Shinichi Tsuha), Nanako spots an elderly gentleman dressed in a white suit. Waiting to welcome her are Grandma Nabi (Tomi Taira) and Grandpa Keitatsu (Seijin Nokawa). The household grows lively with the addition of Fukunosuke (Jun Murakami), a wanderer who, through a twist of fate, has come to stay at Keitatsu’s house. But Grandma Nabi seems strangely unsettled. The man Nanako saw on the ferry is Sanra (Susumu Taira), Grandma Nabi’s former lover, who has returned to the island for the first time in 60 years.
