On her first day at the Lille Judicial Police department, Commander Mathilde Morvan must take charge of the investigation into the suspected disappearance of Judith, a seven-year-old girl who left the hospital where she was being treated. The police arrest a woman wandering through a city park, clutching a bloodstained doll. The suspect claims to be a medium and to have visions in which she sees the little girl and her mother. Commander Morvan is greatly surprised to discover that the suspect is none other than her mother, Claire, with whom she has been estranged for 18 months. Mathilde Morvan places her mother in police custody, but Claire’s visions prove to be rich in information, and Commissioner Étienne persuades the prosecutor to involve Claire Morvan in the investigation.
